Where value may sit in a written-off vehicle
A written-off or end-of-life vehicle may contain reusable components and recoverable materials. Not every component will be suitable for reuse or find a buyer.
Assess the complete vehicle result
Demand, condition, selling prices and time in storage differ between vehicles. Consider purchase and collection, depollution and dismantling, testing, photographs, listing work, storage, fulfilment, selling fees, returns and scrap recovery.
Unsold stock is not the same as realised income. Compare the costs recorded for the vehicle with actual sales and payouts, and keep estimated future values separate.
Keep parts connected to their history
Prime Yard helps connect donor vehicles, dismantling tasks, part records, QR/SKU identification, photographs, stock locations, orders and recorded costs. Supported features and integrations are confirmed during onboarding.
Prime Intelligence can provide relevant comparable asking-price information where supported. Advertised prices are market context, not completed sales or guaranteed values.
Reuse within the correct process
Recovering suitable components can extend their working life. An insurance write-off description does not by itself settle a vehicle’s legal waste classification. Confirm classification and the requirements for storage, treatment and transport with the relevant regulator before handling it.
The right records help an operator make decisions. They cannot remove commercial risk or guarantee a profitable result.
